Teddy Roosevelt Wins 6 Cents

In 1913, Teddy Roosevelt won a lawsuit. He sued the editor of Iron Magazine (George Newett) for calling him a drunk. The ex-president won a grand total of 6 cents!

Teddy could have won more. Mr. Newett admitted he could produce no one to testify to verify that Roosevelt was a drunk. However, Teddy was not interested in a large cash settlement and only wanted his name vindicated. Teddy's lawyer was not a happy man as he wanted to go for a large sum!
