A look back at President George W. Bush and his legacy of pardoning turkeys. I question the legality of these numerous pardons though. Don't you have to be convicted or charged with something first before you can be pardoned?

I think it's funny that Presidents pardon turkeys (pun intended). Although the legality doesn't matter because the pardon is the one thing the president can do without having to consult with anyone or worry about it being overturned. Remember Gerald Ford pardoning Richard Nixon before there were any formal charges? It's a nice gesture, anyway, and it gives schoolkids something to talk about.
