Presidential Christmas Trivia

Okay, these are pretty easy, but still I think they are fun. Let's see if we can get the answers!
  1. Who was the first President to have a Christmas Tree in the White House?
  2. Who was the first President to light the National Christmas Tree and when?

You can watch this year's lighting of the National Tree by President Obama online if you are interested. Hope you are all having a Happy Holiday season!

1. According to the University of Illinois, Franklin Pierce put the first Christmas tree in the White House in 1856. However, according to the White House, Benjamin Harrison started the tradition in 1889.

2. Calvin Coolidge in 1923.

Got the first time out! I saw both answers to #1 as well, but since I saw a lot more of Pierce, I went with that.
